Hey everyone, now that I got Karl out of my system, I started wrenching in the garage yesterday afternoon and decided to do a valve adjustment. Low and behold, I start measuring the valve clearance and to my astonishment, the valves did not need adjusting! Now, this may not seem like a big deal unless I tell you all that the valves have not been adjusted for 18 thousand miles! Also, there was plenty of oil up there in the head and nothing looked burnt or worn. I tribute this to a well built motorcycle and the use of synthetic blend motor oil. Also checked battery fluid level, belt tension, blew out the air filter and checked the spark plug. All in good working order, from a bike with almost 36K on it. The Savage is a good machine.
